Not a catchy name and among the most arbitrary of the geographic units delineated on this site. It is basically all of eastern Washington, and most of eastern Oregon, western Montana and western Idaho (the Columbia extends into Canada, too, of course). Most of the photos here are from the time I spent in the Kettle Range in 2006-2007. The Kettles are a small, lovely and undiscovered range in the northeastern corner of Washington, just to the west of the series of dams and reservoirs formerly known as the Columbia River. I'm planning to add some photographs of Hells Canyon and the Wallowas in northeastern Oregon by the end of the summer. I write about the Kettles here.
